Offering a New Perspective on an Ancient Practice
Our retreat week is more than a visit to a bucket-list destination; it is an opportunity to deepen how we experience and engage with the world. The practice is philosophical, experiential, and reflective, unfolding at a gradual pace that creates a safe and grounding environment for people at every level.

We have two daily practices. Each day builds on the last, shifting from our propensity of control into an ongoing conversation with ourselves and others. We begin to feel the continuity between intention and action. As our movements become more coordinated, the energy we have been holding starts to shift; things may begin to appear different.

We might notice a sense of ease, feeling more settled, quiet, balanced, or even lighter, maybe pains in our back or neck are relieved. Essentially there is a change – our perceptual space opens up – disclosing something that we have known intuitively and unconsciously for our lifetime but which now suddenly appears before us.

We come to understand that we are not simply being “mindfully” aware of something “out there.” Instead, we recognize that we are the experience itself. An experience that expands beyond the confines of our body into the world. From the depth of this space we know we were never alone.
We see that our bodies exist among others and that their presence participates in our experience of the world we embody. By the end of the week we may see that our practice is not about transcending or leaving the body behind. Rather, our daily practice is about learning how to inhabit the body to live more fully, every day.
