Join us for a yoga retreat in Radovljica, Slovenia where medieval streets, historic architecture, and a millennium of traditions come together to tell their story. Here, the past is more than the setting. The town’s history lives on through its residents whose artistry continues to shape their daily life. Museums, galleries, crafts shops, restaurants, cafes, and tasting rooms line the cobblestone streets with sweeping views of the green Slovenian landscape. This 13th Century town beats to a rhythm where creativity is the starting point for a week of yoga, connection and inspiration.
Our Hosts
Our hosts over the week include property owners Marcela and Uroš, the hotel staff and the 5 year consecutive Michelin Star culinary team at Hiša Linhart. They have been an incredible creative force in Radovljica since 2013.
Kristina is the owner of Padma Yoga, a 7 minute walk from our retreat property, where we will be practicing yoga twice a day. She has been running her Iyengar Yoga Studio for years and is delighted to have us practice there for the week.
Barbi is our local Slovenian tour guide advisor. She speaks multiple languages, has traveled the world and frequently refers to Radovljica as the “gem of Slovenia.”
Our Retreat Property
Situated on the car-free Linhart Square, this renovated 16th-century home, recently purchased by our hosts, Marcela and Uroš, has been transformed into a welcoming hotel. We have reserved the entire property for the week to create an intimate, private setting with a dedicated staff to care for us throughout our stay.
Rooms are divided into Standard and Superior Double Rooms where each person will have a separate double bed of their own. All rooms are ensuite with some rooms facing the historic square. Only 8 rooms are at the main house. Space is limited so early booking is encouraged.
Our Yoga Space
Situated just outside the old town and only a seven-minute walk from the Hiša Linhart, Kristina’s Iyengar yoga studio will be our dedicated yoga room for the week. Our morning practice and evening restoratives will be equipped with blankets, blocks, straps, chairs, bolsters, plenty of wall space, and a yoga rope wall. Our practice space is a supportive setting for each of us. A variety of yoga and therapeutic options are made available for us to focus on more specific conditions, fully support any injuries and delve into the subtle layers of practice.
Our Meals
Like all our retreats, we will have a full breakfast available every morning, a welcome reception and two dinners as part of our experience. The only difference is that our culinary team, led by Uroš, has been awarded another Michelin Star in 2026. Enjoy meals prepared by the culinary team, that include many vegetarian and vegan specialties, featuring Slovenian ingredients and recipes inspired by the first Slovene-language cookbook, published in 1799.
Centuries Old Traditions
For more than a thousand years, empires have crossed these lands, yet generations of families and friends continue to assemble, building a strong sense of community through their language, crafts, and customs. During our week, we’ll have the opportunity to meet with many other artisans and shopkeepers from around the region to hear their stories, and experience the traditions they carry forward.

The Herbalist
Walk Linhart Square to the local Alchemy Museum to explore herbal traditions rooted in Slovenian folk medicine.

The Ironworker
Discover Kropa’s ironworking heritage, with roots dating to the 14th century, and is also the same location where our Chef Uroš comes from.

The Beekeeper
Learn beekeeping in nearby Begunje to see why Slovenian honey is celebrated for its exceptional quality, variety and general health benefits.

The Oarsman
Travel across Lake Bled in 1 of 23 wooden pletna boats, a tradition dating to 1590, rowed by an oarsman whose title is passed down within families.
Preserving Natural Heritage
Slovenian cultural heritage adapts their commercial interests towards a future protecting the land, wildlife and natural resources. The country is the first in the world to be declared a Global Green Destination and reforestation projects have added almost 30% more forest growth in less than 100 years. They are implementing policies to mange their environment, offering each of us and future generations an opportunity to move, breath and experience the spectacular landscapes.

Škocjan Caves
A UNESCO Site, the Škocjan Caves have one of the largest underground river canyons in the world and scientific discoveries have noted a rich archaeological history, indicating human habitation for thousands of years.

Lake Jasna
The lake serves as a reminder of the importance Slovenians place in preserving natural landscapes. Its clear waters and scenic surroundings highlight the ecological value of the area. Be sure to check out the bronze statue that symbolizes the connection between the lake and the Julian Alps, representing the region's wildlife and natural heritage.

Tomlin Gorge
Follow the historic pilgrimage path to the basilica at Brezje or explore scenic mountain trails that cross along ancient trade routes.

Lake Bled
Step onto Bled Island, a sacred site long before its church, where a natural spring tells of its significance as a liminal place between our world and the afterlife. Legend later set a temple to Živa, the goddess of life, whose name shares an ancient root with the Sanskrit jīva.
The Slovenian Capital
Radovljica is a perfect home base from where you can connect to more of Slovenia’s ‘love’ of natural and traditional places.

Ljubljana
Just 30 minutes from Radovljica, the capital offers a convenient starting or ending point for your retreat journey. Ljubljana is a university city, with many outdoor cafes and green spaces. The curving Ljubljanica River divides the city's old town from its commercial center. Consider arriving a day early to settle or extending your stay afterward to explore at your own pace.
The Crossroads of Central Europe
Sitting at the crossroads of Central Europe, Slovenia has been occupied by many shifting civilizations throughout its history. Through it all, Slovenians have retained their cultural heritage and much of their natural borders, which together, sets it apart from neighboring countries.
