Kundalini Yoga is an ancient powerful teaching for self-mastery and self-knowledge, awakening one’s potential and connecting with the higher self. Aromatherapy is the art and science of using plant and flower essences for healing, beauty, affecting mental, emotional and spiritual states, and a variety of other uses. It’s a safe, effective, and environmentally responsible alternative to conventional medicines and cosmetics. Aromatherapy, the essence of nature, and Kundalini Yoga complement each other like Twin Souls.
Inspired by my Grandma back in Germany, who lived up to the age of 93 without ever taking any conventional medicine but her own herbs and whatever organic healing plants she would find in the nearby forest, I was on a quest to follow in her footsteps. But it became clear to me that I did not have the patience, understanding, and willingness to grow my own healing plants like she did.
I was delighted to come across Aromatherapy soon after my move to the United States 25 years ago and basically was hooked at the first smell of the divine soul essences. Eager to learn about the healing properties and how to use them I accumulated a big stack of essential oil books over the years. Since, I have been using essential oils passionately on myself and held classes at various places on how to use the essential plant medicine.
Like Aromatherapy, Kundalini Yoga has become my other passion. Integrating both in my daily morning practice has brought powerful effects on my personal wellbeing (mentally, emotionally, physically) and the way I see and deal with life. Like my grandma, I strive to be in control of my well-being and not rely too much on others. It unlocks the natural creative energy that exists in all of us and breaks through the barriers of pain, anxiety, stress, depression and other issues that prevent us from truly experiencing ourselves. It is one of the quickest and most effective ways of transforming one’s life.
Over the years, I have used both my knowledge of Aromatherapy and Kundalini to combine essential oils in a blend to go along with the purpose of the Kundalini Yoga practice at the time.
